Politicextual Tension

By Sarah Wilson

I turned around and saw him looking at my face; there was some sort of admiring longing thing that he had that threw me off for a second.
“What?” I asked, and sidled past to throw my empty Twisted Tea can away. He took a deep breath and blew it out.
“Gawdz,” he said as he caressed my side and turned me around by my hip. “You are the cutest fuckin’ thing….” As he turned me to face him, I grabbed him by the back of his strong neck; I couldn’t help but to stretch so that my mouth could reach his.
“I have something to tell you,” I breathed. He groaned.
“I have something to show you,” he whispered as he nibbled the top part of my ear. God, he’s so tall! I pushed him gently away, and did my best to meet his eyes. The playful lusting immediately left his face as he realized that I did, indeed, have something that needed to be heard.
As soon as I said the words, I knew that there was no going back. And I took his head into my hands, raised up onto my toes, and tilted his ear down close to my mouth. I turned to look at him, and the words just spilled out as I looked into his eyes.
“I am a registered Democrat,” I choked.
